I am a licensed professional counselor with over 13 years of experience working with people of all ages as a therapist. I have worked with people managing depression, anxiety, anger problems, family conflicts, and ADHD. I also have experience working with people who struggle with substance use disorders. Many of my clients have a past history of abuse and trauma and I have helped them process this along with grief and the struggle to move forward.
My style of therapy is warm, compassionate, and caring, as I accept my clients where they are and walk with them along their journey toward wholeness. I tend to lean toward a client-centered approach with cognitive-behavioral strategies to assist clients with thinking through the way they manage problems to improve the outcomes. I will work with each client to set goals that are specific and individualized for their needs.
I always keep in mind that it takes strength and courage to seek help because change is a hard thing. We can do hard things! When you are ready, I am here to provide support, encouragement, and empowerment to help you along the way. I look forward to working with you!

In addition to being professional, Melanie is both empathetic and reliable. She actively listens while offering good guidance and perspective. I have never had to worry about being able to reach her or schedule with her when needed and she actively takes the time to reach out and check in at least once in between weekly sessions. I have never felt like just another number working with Melanie and look forward to getting to share with her.

She meets me lead the conversion and the issues that trouble me most. And that leads into a great way to focus on what we need to place focus on first. I love that about Melanie.
