About me
Life is filled with stressors and during these current difficult times, it is even more challenging to adjust and cope with the everyday events in life. My goal is to help you find the resources within to overcome these challenges in life. I would like to help you strengthen relationships as well as develop healthy perceptions of yourself and life for you to feel at peace, safe and whole.
I thirty years of experience in providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults/couples and families. I believe in using different therapeutic approaches that are chosen based on your particular needs. I often use cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, client centered and mindfulness. I believe in a systems approach that encourages teamwork with others, when appropriate, to assist in treatment.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana and a Master's degree from Smith College School for Social Work, Northampton, Massachusetts. I have lived in the Houston area most of my adult life. I have been married for 46 years. I have three adult daughters and five grandkids. I enjoy traveling, learning about different cultures. I enjoy reading, yoga, swimming and spending time with my family and friends.
I look forward to working together to help you meet your treatment goals.
