I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker after I retired from the Army due to medical issues. I have a unique perspective into what happens during a combat deployment and the long-term impact it has on the military member and their family. I began my career by focusing on the issues that relate to military/veteran families and have found that they are very similar to issues found in society as a whole. The causes of the issues differ but the results are similar.
When working with clients I strive to make the therapy experience genuine, positive, respectful, and safe. I firmly believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in doing great things and overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! I am excited to meet you and work together to identify your goals and make plans to achieve them!

Melinda is great. Very easy to get along with. She makes me laugh, she listens to me, she understands what I'm going through and never makes me feel ashamed. She has given me great advice in only 6 sessions and I am making a lot of progress with my panic/anxiety/agoraphobia already. It's really hard to find a therapist you click with. I've searched for years and I genuinely feel like I've finally found that with Melinda. She's great! :)
