Melinda Howell, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years experience which includes an inpatient psychiatric setting, crisis work in a hospital emergency room, and I have been working in private practice for the past 11 years. I have experience working with clients who feel overwhelmed and may be be depressed, anxious, fearful and experiencing dysfunctional self talk. I have worked with people with a variety of diagnosis successfully .
All therapy is based on the goals of the client in conjunction with the therapist and may include dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and eye movement desensitized reprocessing.
I am empathetic , thoughtful and direct. I find that learning and practicing coping skills can be a great way to get immediate relief. Then we can move on as appropriate, to developing insight into the issue to provide more lasting change to hopefully lead to a happier life!
Please note that my hours vary but my latest appointment is generally at 2:00pm. If that does not work for you please consider a different therapist! Thank you! Melinda
