My name is Melissa, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10+ years of experience working with adults and families in the areas of healing from trauma and abuse, parenting concerns, pregnancy and postpartum adjustment, PTSD, adjustment disorders, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, separation and divorce, anger management, depression, and life transitions. It is my core belief is that every individual holds the power within themselves to bring about positive change. In order to tap into that power, I believe, first and foremost, it is important to build a trusting relationship borne of guidance and support. Partnering together, clients can then gain a deeper understanding of their situation, their individual needs, their thoughts, and what it takes to make their first step, or next step, towards self-realization and positive change.
I hold a Master of Education in Counseling from Texas Southern University and is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the states of Louisiana, Texas, and Colorado. As a committed lifelong learner, I also regularly attend various counseling and psychotherapy workshops to stay abreast of new techniques and theories in my field of expertise; a practice that has benefited my ability to successfully assist clients as they begin their journey or continue to work through the healing process.
As a therapist, I utilize an holistic/integrative and person-centered approach to counseling and psychotherapy. Some of the approaches I use include Humanistic Approach, family therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
I look forward to working with you on your journey to self-realization and positive change.

Melissa is wonderful. She's incredibly thoughtful, insightful, and responsive. I highly recommend her
Better Help is a great way to connect people to therapist and is innovative and above the curve, I like the way it is presented in such a way that I do not have to drive somewhere to have a session one on one with real counselors and therapists. Melissa was quite supportive of my decisions that I needed help with.
Melissa has been amazing. She has responded in a timely manner and has given me some very good advice and techniques that I could use in helping me cope with my social anxiety. I would highly recommend Melissa.
Melissa is highly responsive, and a good listener. I do my best to present my issues in a truthful and unbiased way to get an honest response, and she has been there for me and has come through. Talking to her is an eye-opening experience.
I appreciate Melissa's help greatly. She listens well and is supportive.
