About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in California with 8 years of experience. I have worked with clients who have a broad range of issues and mental health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and related issues, grief and loss/bereavement, family and relationship issues, and addictions. I have also worked with all ages. I consider myself to be a client-centric counselor, which essentially means that our work together will be a collaborative partnership where you are in the driver’s seat - I want to get to know you and what works or helps YOU the best. I also want to know what area/s you’d prefer to focus on and what your goals for therapy are so that I can be of utmost assistance and support to you.

In terms of treatment modalities, I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have had specialized trauma training. I also utilize elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and meditation and other relaxation skills training with my clients. I tend to use an eclectic approach in which, again, I work to find what will be most useful and helpful for each individual client.

I realize it takes a lot of courage to take that first step and reach out for help. I’m here and ready to support you on your journey. I look forward to hearing from you!

Melissa is wonderful! She really listens and doesn't push anything on me. Very personable, which is why I think I can open up to her more.

She is awesome! She listens very well and pays attention to your concerns. She responds with encouragement and gives helpful ideas, links to outside resources that may apply, and doesn't judge. I really appreciate what she has done and she doing for me.

Melissa is a great therapist. She makes me feel comfortable when speaking to her and is genuinely concerned about helping you. I have been to therapy before and this is the first time I can really say I enjoy and look forward to therapy. She is knowledgeable in trauma and has good coping mechanism tips. I almost feel as if I’m talking to a friend in the level of comfort which is extremely important for me. I highly recommend Melissa as a therapist.

Melissa has been amazing. I am so grateful to have her as my counselor. She understands, listens, is responsive and so caring. Not only is it great to have someone to vent to freely but to have someone who genuinely cares and wants to help and be there. I cant thank her enough.

Melissa has been a huge part of starting my recovery to better mental health. Having her to help me talk through rough days, provide resources and understand my mental illnesses has been an extremely valuable tool and resource. I am very fortunate to have been matched with her and am thankful for her being there to support people like me.
