About Me

Hello and welcome to your first steps in a new life. Here is a little about me. My name is Melissa Davis and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor. I graduated from Seton Hall University with a Master's Degree in Counseling. I have also received Certifications in Play Therapy and Substance Abuse Therapy. I have been in the Mental Health field for 13 years providing different services such as Intensive In-Home, Day Treatment, Outpatient Therapy and Group Home counseling. I have worked with numerous populations such as men, women and children, domestic violence, marriage and family concerns as well as substance use, personality disorders, trauma, depression and anxiety.

My counseling approach varies from client to client. I am trained in multiple approaches such as Cogntive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Strengthen Families Program. I prefer to use a mixture of approaches depending on what you are going through at that time, knowing that the treatment goals may change throughout our time. My goal is to address your goals and work through stressors by teaching coping skills. I am very easy going and enjoy completing clinical assessments and therapy with my clients. I love interacting and getting to know what makes you the best version of yourself.

I am excited for our journey together, whether this is a crisis concern or long-term investment.

Melissa has been the biggest help in my journey to better myself and the struggles I’m having. She answers back daily and is genuinely concerned in what I’m going through. Her communication style is comfortable and very caring. She makes me feel like I can actually open up (which is hard for me truthfully) and I trust in her that she can provide me the tools needed for my journey of self development. Even before we have had an actual session she has been talking to me and allowing me the space to talk about things. I find it very helpful that she is so open to talking to me outside of an actual scheduled session. She makes it easy to be comfortable and feel safe to talk. She always ensures that I’m comfortable and I really appreciate that. I recommend her highly. I really like her so far!
