About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in adults, adolescents, families, and parenting. I believe in meeting people where they are at to better understand their experience and to help people create change.

Much of my approaches are experiential and focus on bringing things to the present to reduce stress, anxiety, irritability, and negativity. I enjoy being creative with clients and using mindfulness as well as art and music when appropriate.
Some evidenced-based practices I have experience in are Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

I enjoy working with issues related to depression, anxiety, young adulthood, transitions, grief and loss, sexual identity, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and parenting. Approaching isues from a holistic approach to healing and improvement have been core in the work I have provided for for over ten years.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Benedictine University in Lisle IL in 2006 and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Schaumburg, IL in 2008.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Melissa Del Rosario. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

At first, I was hesitant to try an online counseling app. But after using it for a few months, I can honestly say I’ve had a better experience here than any in person counselors I’ve tried. Melissa has been so extremely helpful for my mental health. I have some very difficult weeks, but after our sessions, I always feel better. She has given me some great advice, and I always feel like I have a good plan to take the steps needed to improve my life. She’s super down to earth, and seems to legitimately care and go out of her way to to make sure I’m doing ok. She always gets back to me pretty quickly, and always seems to know the right things to say so that I feel like things will be ok. If a few days go by and she doesn’t hear from me, she’ll reach out to make sure everything is alright.

I can’t speak for every counselor on Better Help, but I can say I feel pretty lucky to have gotten linked up with Melissa, because she’s been exactly the help I’ve needed at the exact time I needed it.

I think Melissa is very down to earth and affirming. I really appreciates that she spends the time to engage with what I’ve shared to provide helpful feedback. She also ends with a thoughtful question, which I appreciate because I can think about it and respond in a meaningful way. I’ve gained a lot in these past few weeks. Thank you

I have only been talking to Melissa del Rosario for a short amount of time but I have found some relief in my anxiety and worries already as well as ways in which I can help myself.
