Melissa Del Rosario

About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in children, adolescents, families and adults. I feel that improving communication can help people move to a healthier and happier place.

Much of my approaches are experiential and focus on bringing things to the present to reduce stress, anxiety, irritability, and negativity. I also utilize art, mindfulness and music. Some of my evidenced-based practices are Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

I enjoy working with children, families, and adults that present with issues of trauma and adoption. I also like working with those who present with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and parenting. I am interested in a holistic approach to healing and improvement and have been working with children, adolescents, families, and adults providing therapy for over ten years.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Benedictine University in Lisle IL in 2006 and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Schaumburg, IL in 2008.

I think Melissa is very down to earth and affirming. I really appreciates that she spends the time to engage with what I’ve shared to provide helpful feedback. She also ends with a thoughtful question, which I appreciate because I can think about it and respond in a meaningful way. I’ve gained a lot in these past few weeks. Thank you

I have only been talking to Melissa del Rosario for a short amount of time but I have found some relief in my anxiety and worries already as well as ways in which I can help myself.
