About Me

I am a licensed professional counselor and registered art therapist in the state of Wisconsin. I specialize in the use of art therapy as a grounded, hands-on approach to developing mindfulness and creating change.

If you are suffering from anxiety or depression, I can help you become a participant in your own change. If you’ve experienced grief or trauma, I can offer a safe outlet in which to unpack it. I have been practicing as a counselor and art therapist for over seven years and have had the opportunity to witness people transform through art and mindfulness. If you feel nervous about creating art, don't worry, I have plenty of clients who stick to talk therapy and experience awesome results.

I am trained in a variety of modalities but recognize that each individual is unique, so your experience with me will be just that. I believe in letting you know exactly what is going on through the entire therapeutic process, so you will never be in the dark about my intentions or the direction you are going. I am especially effective at helping you deconstruct and examine your role in existing issues. Whatever the problem, we will develop practical, everyday skills and tools to help make you a more mindful, self-aware person.

When I first had contact with Melissa, I was in such a state. She convinced me what had happened wasn’t all my fault and I deserved to be happy. She recommended meditation which has had such a positive effect. Just having someone to talk to who understands has been a great help.
