About me

Melissa Ford is a licensed Clinical Psychotherapist in Wisconsin with 24 years of Clinical Psychotherapy experience. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults who needed help with Anxiety issues, OCD, Managing Stress, Depression, coping with Grief and Loss, Health issues, Addiction, Eating disorders, Career and work issues, School issues, ADHD, Oppositional and behavioral issues, Self esteem/ Confidence building, Mood issues, Relationship issues, Parenting and Family Skills, Postpartum depression, PTSD and Trauma work.

Regarding experience with children, and adolescents she has over 37 years of experience. Melissa has worked as an Art therapist, Classroom teacher, and School Counselor within a variety of school districts. She currently holds a professional license as a middle and high school teacher (7-12) and a school counselor (preK-12). She has worked within the school system doing therapy within the schools and performed psychological evaluations for students with a variety of educational needs. She further has worked with students to increase better achievement, improve their behavior, and inspire career and college readiness. In addition she has treated children and adolescents in residential, inpatient, IOP, and individual outpatient settings. In school she has inspired students to be engaged with curiosity and an eagerness to learn improving achievement, learning to resolve conflict and reducing behavioral issues. Equally important, she has taught parenting classes to support the family system and help parents with a plan to improve the happiness and the environment within their home.

Melissa has over ten years training as a Clinical Psychologist (Doctoral program) doing psychological evaluations for the court system in Waukesha County, Residential treatment/ Inpatient treatment at Rogers Memorial Hospital and leading IEP/Psychology evaluations for children and adolescents. She has further worked with adults in a variety of settings from residential, inpatient, AODA inpatient and clinical therapy and treatment in private practice.
