Welcome to my profile. Thank you for looking into getting help, this is the first step for overall wellness and it takes a lot of courage. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself before we get started on our journey to wellness. I graduated from a state college in Ohio with both my BA and master’s degrees. I am licensed in mental health counseling for all ages and populations. The past few years, I have been working at a community mental health agency and often work with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. I really enjoy what I do and strive to help my clients the best way I know how.
I believe counseling can be a beneficial way to a find healthy balance in your life. Sometimes people need an unbiased party to talk to during difficult times or times of life transitions. Counseling is your time to talk about whatever is on your mind. I would like to start with what you believe is the most important area you think should be worked on and what goals you would like to accomplish. If you are interested in the types of therapies I favor, they would include Reality Therapy, Existential Therapy and CBT. I am also trained in EMDR and Thinking for a Change. I enjoy helping my clients feel empowered, independent, and finding meaning in life. Hopefully, we can find some coping skills that will allow you to better handle life's stressors by modifying possible dysfunctional thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. I am curious to know more about you and have many questions to better understand your conflicts. I am looking forward to hearing from you again and working with you in the future.
