About me

Welcome to BetterHelp and thank you for taking this step in your therapeutic journey. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado with several years of experience providing individual therapy to adults with various mental health related concerns. The most common symptoms I address with people are depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief, substance use, managing chronic illness, and general stress management. I work collaboratively with clients to establish goals and determine a specific treatment plan unique to each client, acknowledging that everyone is different and requires an individualized approach to therapy. I practice from a trauma- informed and person-centered model, meaning I meet clients where they are at and empathically support them without judgement. I truly believe in the innate resiliency within every individual; I am here to simply help draw out strengths and healthy coping strategies to help folks better manage whatever is currently going on in their lives.

Most of my experience has been in a medical setting, including primary care clinics, specialty clinics, emergency rooms, and hospitals. I have worked with a wide range of personalities and value the opportunity to build trust, rapport, and relationships with people. I graduated from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work with a Master of Social Work degree and certificate in Animal- Assisted Social Work. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Colby College and a Health Coach Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

My therapy style is warm, strengths based, and collaborative in nature. I recognize and adhere to the values of self-determination and autonomy, while safely exploring what thoughts, feelings, and behaviors may be contributing to the presenting concern. My approach draws from solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques.

If I have the privilege to work with you, please know that I am on your team and I am rooting for you. You are not alone, we will face any challenges you are going through… together.

In my spare time, you can find me exploring the beautiful Rocky Mountains by foot or by skis with my partner and Great Pyrenees named Lily.
