Hello! My name is Melissa Potvin, and I have a Masters Degree in Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) here in the beautiful state of Michigan. My career in counseling has been over the course of the last 12 years and has been concentrated in the field of addictions and trauma. I have experience with multiple areas of addiction and multiple sources of trauma including PTSD and anxiety diagnoses. I have a secondary credential of Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) from the state of Michigan.
My personal style in interacting with individuals is non-judgmental and non-confrontational. I will work with you on the goals you choose whether it is stopping an unwanted habit or behavior, starting a new relationship or a new career. I have helped a number of clients on a periodic basis through many years as they have needed the extra support at different times in their lives.
I will be as dedicated to this helping process as yourself, checking messages regularly and responding to you through this process. Reaching out to even investigate these options is a beginning start, and I commend you for taking these first steps.

Knowledgeable, responsive, professional and all around excellent. Takes a long time to find a good therapist, and I am fortunate to have found her.
Melissa has expertise in several fields that fit my personal scenario and has helped me navigate through some very sensitive issues. I am grateful for her help.
Melissa has been amazing. She has helped a lot of things "click" in my head. She is understanding, logical and empathetic. I felt a lot better after speaking with her only a couple of times, and I feel like I'm becoming a better person every week inside and out, which I can credit a big portion of that success to Melissa.
Melissa is very attentive, responsive, and supportive. Her professional background and expertise fit perfectly with the issues I'm dealing with. I look forward to it weekly sessions.
Melissa was fantastic -- such a big help, with a friendly and realistic approach to therapy.
She’s great! Always has a good perspective on my situations and is very encouraging and supportive
Melissa Potvin Is a wonderful empathetic therapist who lets you take the lead on where the session will go. She provides framing of issues, guidance and recommendations when appropriate. She is a warm, supportive listener who creates a safe space for you to talk about anything. Working with Melissa was very helpful to me.
Melissa helped me through a difficult period when my mental health declined. She was very caring and understood everything i was going through and gave me great advice on how to progress forward. I felt she understood what i was going through and helped me understand without being judged. Many thanks Melissa.
Melissa and I are just getting to know each other at this point, but I’ve found our sessions helpful and therapeutic. I’m looking forward to building the relationship.
