About me

Hello! My name is Melody Anderson, CMHC. As a therapist, my hope is to provide a safe space for you to explore the issues and concerns in your life that are inhibiting your growth, healing, and ability to move forward. I have an irreverent approach to life and am awkward and a bit silly in my attitude and goals. No one person is the same and I seek to help you rediscover you.
I have been fortunate and lucky to have worked with different people, races, culturals, sexualities, identities, spectrums, ages, and goals. Further, I’ve worked with substance use, domestic violence victims and perpetrators, people going through grief and loss, depression, anxiety, sexual identity crisis, and personality disorders. I specialize in Cognitive Behavior Therapy with an emphasis on Person-Centered Therapy (finding out what you value and finding ways to incorporate those beliefs into your everyday life.)
I am married and have five adult children and a tween (5 girls and a boy.) I have a basset hound: Ginger Longbottom Spice. My hobbies include camping, fishing, boating, reading, crafts and being a grandparent. The quote I live by is, “Those who can, should.”

I love therapy with Melody!!!

Written on Feb 09, 2023 after therapy with Melody for 1 year and 3 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, eating disorders, compassion fatigue, and lgbt

Melody has been the first therapist I've truly connected with. Not only did I feel as though she listened to me and understood who I was, but I also felt that she understood what my goals were and knew how to help me achieve them. She was always supportive and kind, and it is obvious she has lots of experience because it felt like she always knew how to help. Melody empowered me to understand and accept myself on a deeper level while working towards becoming a healthier and happier me. I am incredibly grateful for Melody and all of her wisdom in helping me achieve my goals.

Mel has positively impacted my life. She is knowledgeable, scientific, understanding, and compassionate. As a fellow health care worker, I admire her passion for person centered care. I had never worked with a therapist before and Mel helped me become more aware of my feelings and how to cope and understand them. I admire Mel and her dedication to her clients. She is amazing and I’m hoping to keep working with Mel as long as I can!!

Mel is AMAZING. She has all of the knowledge, resources, humor, and compassion one would hope to find in a therapist. She offers a vantage point that I often haven’t seen myself, yet still connects and affirms my point of view. Incredibly helpful and honest. As long as she is offering her services, I am with her for life!

Melody is the best ever. I have had a lot of therapists, but she is one I truly connect with. I’ve always thought therapists care because they are paid to care - I just know that Melody cares. I don’t think she would care any different if she wasn’t being paid. I genuinely look forward to talking to her. She is so understanding, so real and just fun too.
She is number one the person I want to talk to! ❤️ never changing my therapist ever
