About Me

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 12 years’ experience working with individuals who come to me with a variety of concerns and issues. My practice has included treating clients who are anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, grieving, have experienced trauma, have relationship issues, have difficulties with adjustment, and often with a combination of presenting symptoms. My experience has been in residential and out-patient settings, which has offered opportunities to work with a lively and diverse caseload. I enjoy getting to know others and am honored to help clients enhance the quality of their lives. That's what it is all about!

I graduated from the University of Arkansas, felt safe and comfortable in the mountains, and have since made my home here in the Natural State. My Client Centered approach is holistic, friendly, non-judgmental, and draws upon my knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength's Perspective, and a variety of alternative theories and therapies including Color Therapy, Aroma Therapy, Cinema Therapy, and Smile Therapy (yes, there is such a thing). I have found that the best way for me to help others help themselves is through acceptance, enhanced by knowledge and experience.

You've made the first step by seeking help, which takes courage. Good for you! I would be delighted to accompany you as you take the next step towards feeling better. Together, we can create a plan for success and delight in making it happen.

Melody is an excellent counselor. She helped me work out my social anxiety and understand what caused me to lose sleep at night. Her goal oriented approach helped me to have better relationships with those around me and I am in a much better place now than I was a year ago. Thank you Melody, you truly helped me out when I needed it. :)

Professional, but with a great sense of humor. Actively listens, shows up on time, remembers details, and very LGBT friendly.

Melody is helping me with knowledge, insightful analysis, support and lots of validation. She adapts easily to my shifting topics, and allows me to lead the sessions, while guiding me with thoughtful commentary and information. She introduces me to incredibly helpful psychological concepts and gives me tools to develop new patterns of thinking and feeling. I really love going through this awesome process with her.
