Meridith Starling, LCSW
About me
Hi there! My name is Meridith Starling and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist. I graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Social Work with a Master of Science in Social Work in 2004 in which I majored in clinical social work and counseling. In 2015 I completed my Educational Specialist Degree (EdS) from the University of Mississippi where I studied Play Therapy. I am licensed in both Ohio and Tennessee, and I have 15 years of experience working with children, families, and adults in a variety of settings. Whether I was sitting along side a parent as their child was diagnosed with cancer, or in my private practice with a family struggling with grief/loss, divorce, ADHD, identity issues, or any other life stressor, I treat all of my clients with The Golden Rule. What I have found to be the most helpful along the counseling journey is the relationship and comfort one feels with their therapist. I am a person-centered therapist meaning that I meet each client where they are at, I am non-judgmental and accepting and offer a warm and supportive environment. My goal is to provide support, ideas, and insight to assist all of my clients on their goals and journey to feeling better. I often pull from a Cognitive Behavioral and Strength Based approach to further help clients along their counseling journey. No one should feel alone in facing life's challenges. I am here to help, and look forward to meeting you!

Even though I’ve only had a couple sessions with Meridith, I feel very understood. She always knows what I’m trying to express and always has helpful and practical recommendations. She is very easy to talk to and replies to messages in a really timely manner. I have only positive things to say about my experience!
