About me

Hi I’m Dr. Mia Robben. I am a licensed psychologist in both D.C. and North Carolina with over 14 years of experience providing individual, couples, group, and family therapy. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, eating issues, military family issues, and multicultural issues.

As a therapist, I am supportive, interactive, and compassionate. I view therapy as a collaborative process where I assist you in clarifying your goals and being able to obtain the change you desire. My approach is integrative where I draw from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, interpersonal, and family systems theories. As my client I will customize our dialogue and treatment to meet your unique and specific needs. I believe establishing a good working relationship is key and will focus on being able to connect and understand your particular background and issues. In addition to providing you support, I will also challenge you in order to facilitate deeper insight and self-awareness to your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. With these new insights I will assist you in implementing the transformations you would like to see in yourself.

I want to acknowledge the courage you have already shown in taking the first steps toward change. It takes a lot of strength to reach out for help in difficult times. I am here to support and empower you whenever you’re ready.

I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Robben is an excellent counselor. She is the best therapist I have worked with to date. I've been meeting with her for just about one year and the progress I've made in managing my mindset has be amazing. She is a wonderful listener, and she always provides me with good insight into my thoughts. Her advice is rooted in truth and she has been such a blessing to me through this pandemic. I am so grateful we were matched together.
