I am currently available for live sessions on Saturday morning and afternoon, as well as Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. I am available for messaging throughout the week. I respond to most messages within 48 hours. I want you to get support that best meets your needs. If you have been connected with me by BetterHelp and this does not fit your scheduling or care needs, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to request another counselor. If you think I could be a good fit for you, I look forward to working with you!
My aim is to provide personalized, evidence-based psychotherapy. Thus, my approach and treatment method will vary depending on your personality and the particular issue or problems you bring forward. I work from a client-as-expert standpoint; this leads to collaborative and strengths-based counseling. I frequently draw on solution-focused or mindfulness techniques grounded in a person-centered approach. We can work together to set goals based on your needs, build on your existing skills, and look for new ways of evaluating your situation or different ways of relating to yourself and others.
I earned an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State (License# LH60825350), Nationally Certified Counselor (ID# 267361), and member of the American Counseling Association.
I believe the most effective counseling is grounded in an understanding of the individual - their development, culture, identity, experience of privilege and bias, abilities and challenges. I value transparency and find this reflected in the trust I receive from clients. I encourage you to take an active role in your treatment, so I will check in with you about what has been helpful for you and what has been less effective. I want to help you achieve consistent support and am happy to coordinate care with other treatment providers.

Mica is very intelligent, insightful, and supportive. She listens well.
I was skeptical at first, because I have a confidence issue. But I’m fairly comfortable talking to Mica and they’re very knowledgeable and seem to understand me a lot better than I thought they would.
Mica is an excellent counselor.
