About me
I am licensed in Hawaii with 9 years of professional mental health experience in a variety of venues helping a wide range of children, 0 to 18 years of age, along with their families. I have first-hand experience with LGBTQIA issues and challenges in today's world, relationship issues, family conflicts and parenting issues concerning child behavioral challenges. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment goals with your collaboration and unique specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I applaud you for getting started!
My therapeutic approach includes multiple theories which are effective for a system's approach. I have found that there is no one size fits all theory/model and that is why I incorporate multiple theories/models. I utilize a behavioral model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a Transgenerational model depending on what the client's needs are. I also subscribe to consistent and frequent trainings to keep up to date on the latest empirical data to improve my skills and practices as a therapist. Together we can find the balance needed to address your mental health needs.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Michael Milcetich-Tano. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Michael was a very good fit for me.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Michael. He is very thoughtful, meaning he truly processes what I say and asks thought provoking questions. I’ve never had a therapist this responsive and invested in my progress. I am very appreciative for the support and compassion he’s shown me through some relatively difficult times in my life.
Michael is a caring and considerate therapist. He works to really understand me and what I’m going through and gives homework that is quick and practical. I’m an over full time student and quick is all I can afford. Very helpful.
He has been nothing but the best!
I think Michael is amazing (didn’t mean to but disagree for any of my review questions). He’s fantastic and feels much more genuine about caring.
Michael, is a very thoughtful and engaging therapist. I appreciated his gentle and thoughtful approach to my therapy. He asked great questions and helped me look at things in a new way which have given me more emotional resilience to deal with stress from work. He showed me a path to get over addictions and replace them with healthy habits. Most of all he helped my relationship with my partner.
I have a strong feeling Michael is going to help change my life and I’m so thankful I have him in mine! Thank you better help and Michael :)<3
