About Me

Hi,

My name is Mike, and I am a licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker from Massachusetts, and I have been helping people as a Therapist and Social Worker since 2012.

My counseling style is warm, interactive, and includes a helpful dose of humor. I believe in treating anyone I work with the respect, sensitivity, and compassion they deserve. I also believe in empowering individuals to make changes in their life and use their strengths to become the best version of themselves. I want to help you to achieve the vision of yourself that you hold in your mind. You are that person that you envision and with a little help from me, we can help get you there!

My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, rational-emotive counseling. I also am a firm believer in incorporating mindfulness and distress tolerance techniques into ones’ daily life. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs as our relationship develops.

Since starting this journey as a Therapist and Social Worker in 2012, I have been privileged to work in a variety of settings. These settings include a Massachusetts Department of Mental Health group home, psychiatric and local community hospitals, colleges, and the Massachusetts prison system. In these settings I served clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, family conflict, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, ADHD and more.

I realize life can be challenging and sometimes we need someone to walk alongside us on this journey. As your therapist, you will find that I provide a safe, nurturing, fun, and confidential environment conducive to a good therapeutic relationship between therapist and client. My commitment is to help find real solutions for real problems and to have some laughs along the way.

I will be here to assist you in whatever challenge you are facing and to empower you to live YOUR best life. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Mike

Michael is like a friend that has expertise in CBT. So far so good I like his style of therapy you don't feel pressure or being judgmental about your life decisions.

Michael has been awesome so far! I honestly feel better already being able to just let things out and try to work through personal challenges. He's asked really good questions and made me kind of think about my circumstance and we are currently working on the steps I should take next.

Micheal is always attentive and ready to give the best advice he has. He knows the situations and people and can always help formulate a plan to better deal with situations. He always listens and when there is a crisis he is always there to help.

Michael Pithis has a wonderful way of asking the right questions to make one think and breakdown their struggles and emotions to rationalize and be manageable. You might think at first that you want to talk about other things or that the questions have nothing to do with your current situation, but believe me, trust the process. He is a true professional and has greatly impacted me in a short amount of time.

Michael has been very patient with me and very understanding. I just recently lost my brother last week and he has been very supportive. I really appreciate Michael over these tough times. I have decided that I trust him to go into some really deep personal stuff...and begin to do some real work.
