I have been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia for 10 years. I am licensed in Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, & Texas as well. My theoretical base is client-centered psychotherapy. I believe that clients know themselves best. They have the answers inside; they just need help finding them. I am willing to walk through the deepest darkness with my clients and be their biggest fan at the same time. Being a therapist allows me to create and share a safe place for people to fall, to heal, to laugh, to cry, to love, and to grow. As a therapist, I am invited into people's deepest emotional places and I celebrate the courage it takes to let me in. Being a therapist allows me a unique view of people from both the inside and the outside. I am able to see beneath their pain, fear, and frustration; and to help them face adversity with the assurance of knowing they are not alone.
As an experiential therapist, my philosophy is "Let's deal with the elephant in the room, discover any relevant history, and grow." I am very genuine, tend to be direct and honest, and I often give homework to help clients put what they've learned into practice.
I believe it is important to meet people where they are emotionally. Most people want to be the best they can be. Through psychotherapy, or counseling, people can reach their full potential. As a therapist, I act as a guide on that journey to self-fulfillment. I am willing to walk with people on their journey to find out who they are and why they matter in the universe. I encourage everyone I work with to embrace their power and stand on their truth.

Dr. Godfrey is insightful, well-spoken, and kind. She's consistent and compassionate, curious about my ambitions and intentions. Which are all qualities that I value in someone tasked with mining my brain for personal growth.
Dr.Godfrey is very attentive. She listens and responds in a timely manner. I felt like she was validating my feelings and allowed me to think through my process. She is great. I want to talk to Dr. G again!!
Dr. Godfrey is kind, relatable and treats patients as close friends and less of an transactional feel and approach of other counselors. I'm excited to continue to build my own confidence and self worth with her!
Dr. Godfrey actually hears what I tell her and responds to me in way that lets me know she truly understands what I’m going through. She focuses on solutions while providing comfort in a way that you feel like she’s in the battle with you. I very much appreciate the work she’s doing with me.
Dr Godfrey really helped me to understand myself better and what I have to offer the world. I would not hesitate in recommending Dr Godfrey.
