Michael Shaw, LMHC
About me
I have Master's degrees in both Theology and Counseling Psychology. I was first licensed as a mental health counselor in Massachusetts in 1996 and in Florida in 2006. I have successfully counseled people who are looking for assistance with a variety of mental health and substance use issues. I am a board-certified fellow in the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and have used my expertise in PTSD, trauma and anxiety with active military members, veterans and their families. During our sessions we might use a number of counseling models including Client-Centered, Solution-Focused or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy among others to help alleviate symptoms and help change begin. You may expect gentle, non-judgmental support and guidance in your journey towards a happier and more fulfilling life. If you would like to know more about your depression, anxiety or other issues, let’s see if we are a good fit for each other. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best in your life.
