Dr. Michelle Lind

(LCSW, LICSW)

About Me

Welcome, and congratulations on taking the first step in working towards your goals and resolving your problems. Taking the first step is usually the hardest so you have already overcome one obstacle.

I work from a strength-based reality approach. In other words, I believe that everyone has strengths and if we can identify those strengths together, we can perhaps help you to work through or manage your current concern. In addition, you are not defined by any problems that you have.

Working from the reality base is just like it sounds. That is, we have to work with whatever realities that you have, and work towards changing that if that is one of your goals. I believe that no matter how bad some things might feel, it is never hopeless.

My counseling style is warm and interactive but straight forward, and I usually dive right in. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in labels or judging. I think you will find that our sessions are conversational. I provide non-medical counseling. I do not provide a diagnosis and no medical record will be created. We can text, chat, video chat or we can use the telephone. The choice is yours.

Because everyone is different and different problems for different people mean different things, I will ask questions on how things relate and affect you. Of course, you can ask any questions at any time.

A little bit about my qualifications. I hold a doctorate in Health Sciences focusing on mental health, and a master's in Social Work.
I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working as a counselor and a life coach. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including Situational Stessors; Social Isolation; Relationship issues; Parenting problems; Career challenges; School/University issues, Psycho-Educational; Financial social work and Self-esteem/Confidence issues.

I look forward to working with you. I am here to try and help.

Although I communicated with Michelle very briefly, her quick kind responses gave me hope. I realised online sessions weren't for me but I'm sure if online support works for you then Michelle will be an amazing support. Thank you Michelle!

I have a general distrust with the psychiatric community. However, I feel pretty blessed and very fortunate to be connected with an extremely supportive, knowledgeable, and respectful straight-shooter health practitioner who is responsive and very helpful. I'm presently going through one of the most challenging times of my complicated life. I'm very grateful that Dr. Lind is there for me.

Written by J.A on Jul 20, 2016 after counseling with Michelle for 2 days on issues concerning relationship, trauma and abuse, sleeping, self esteem, and career

I've put off writing a letter about Dr. Michelle Lind for some time now, mainly because I didn't know how to start a letter for someone who's made such a big impact on my life in such a small burst of time.

On that lone, stark, cold, depressing November evening, I first met her, I came whimpering to Michelle for help out of the dark crevice and the rut that was my lonely little life.

Over these long, tired, weeks, Michelle has been faithfully by my side, helping me ceaselessly through the thick of it. She's a prompt life coach, never once missing a beat, always less than a half day's reply away when I've come squealing to her with my life quells. Her wisdom is always to the point, her advice practical, her manner courteous, and her concern genuine. Michelle's support has been tremendous through a very dark period of my life, and she's really aided bring me to the light at the end of it.

It's taken much hard work, yet months later here I stand, older, wiser, feeling healthier and embracing my life, with thoughts that you only live once, so make it count and LIVE LARGE AND FREE!

More than just a counselor, I've made a great new friend for life.

I may finished with BetterHelp's services, but a much more fulfilled person than when I first began.

Thank you. Thank you dearly Michelle Lind.
