About Me

Hello. My name is Michelle Loper and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Texas and a licensed independent social worker in Ohio. I also have am a licensed chemical dependency counselor in Ohio. I have over 20 years of experience providing individual, family, and group therapy. My therapeutic approach to challenges is predominately cognitive behavioral treatment and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I also have a background in military practice and dealing with trauma from a variety of therapeutic approaches. I provide skills to assist individuals in coping with their challenges and hope to cultivate independence and self-fulfillment.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
I have a Master's in Social Work from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of Hawaii. I am hopeful that working together will bring change to both of us.

For the past few weeks, I've been meeting with Michelle weekly for video sessions. She also checks in on me frequently and has been open to reviewing my journal entries and offering feedback. I feel like Michelle and I are a really good match. She's a good listener and she understands what my concerns are and gives me valuable suggestions and insight, as well as validating my own observations about myself. I've never tried counseling before and after the experience I've had with Michelle thus far, I am really happy that I finally reached out to someone for help.

We have only had one phone consultation but Michelle is a very good listener and I look forward to working with her. I have optimism for the first time in years and feel like I may be able to possibly get my life back some day. Also, this service is so much more affordable than any other options that I have researched.
