About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor as well as holding a doctorate in Counseling Education and Supervision. I started the journey to become a therapist as a family member of someone struggling with complex mental health needs. I worked as an advocate for families with complex needs changing the way mental health services are delivered. My history allows me a unique perspective on the value of individual choice and voice. Trauma occurs in everyone’s life to some degree. Our ability to manage the impact of trauma is varied with some navigating the symptoms with minimal reactions and some struggling to live their fullest life. Trauma symptoms happen when our internal resources are insufficient to manage outside stimuli, and therefore is a unique experience for each individual. My focus is on healing the mind, body and spirit from traumatic events. I believe in the unique capacity of the individual to heal and therefore provide individualized, culturally focused, client centered services. I work with a variety clients utilizing focused interventions to resolve symptoms along with skills acquisition to balance emotional struggles. My practice offers a diverse array of services that are designed to meet the individual and familial needs. I continue to build on this diversity as my client base grows and needs are identified. I look forward to meeting you.
