About me

Hi, my name is Michelle Robinson and I am a certified EMDR therapist. EMDR is an evidence based therapeutic modality, which research proves effective in managing the effects of traumatic events, including grief. Trauma can be a single event (ie sexual assault) or complex, accumulated from years of several stressful memories. Your body stores trauma in a variety of forms. Headaches, insomnia, muscle pain/fatigue, hyper vigilance and panic attacks are common. EMDR uses Adaptive Information Processing to relieve distress, reformulate negative beliefs, and reduce/eliminate physiological arousal to triggers. EMDR promotes healing from psychological trauma, much like your body heals from physical trauma.

Trauma experiences manifest themselves in several ways. Re-experiencing, avoidance, hyperarousal, performance anxiety and emotional numbness hinder total wellness and relationship quality. My passion is working with adults who are READY TO WORK AND HEAL. Relief from your symptoms will result in improved interpersonal relationships, work performance, and overall happiness.

Michelle is awesome! We just had a memory reprocessing session and it was a liberating experience. I have tried different cognitive methods and could only get so far but this session unlocked and transformed my memories in a way I've never been able to with traditional cbt.
