About Me

As an experienced Connecticut Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling I have experience in helping clients reduce, navigate and prevent anxiety, panic attacks, OCD symptoms, depression. I also have experience in treating trauma and in reducing reactivity to triggers of trauma. I also counsel clients with mood disorders and can help clients learn how to self regulate. I have worked with adolescents, college students, adults of all ages, on all sorts of issues including: relationship issues, grief, career issues, self esteem, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, loneliness, adjustment issues. I know a lot about Christian religions and consider myself very spiritual. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines Person Centered, Adlerian, and cognitive-behavioral, I have an eclectic approach and will work with you to design a treatment plan that will best help you to accomplish your goals. I am married and have an adult son and daughter and have worked with couples and families as well as individuals.

Michelle made a huge difference in my life! I came to counseling very unsure, unconfident but knew I had to make a change. Michelle was patient in listening and provide small, tactical actions that made a huge difference in overcoming my anxiety. We also did some meditative practices to help focus on being more present. She was also very flexible with scheduling! I am leaving counseling a more calm, joyful and confident individual who has the tools that I need to be successful, all thanks to Michelle! Michelle has been an amazing counselor. She took her time in getting to know me. She is encouraging and supportive. Michele has helped me get through tough situations work. What I like about her is that she listens and gives me ways to deal with the negative that goes on at work. Also, her telling me about leaving a little earlier is the best thing to do rather listening to bickering. I thank her for all the help. My schedule is not flexible enough to visit in an office. If something happens, I can log in and let it go :)
