Hello and Welcome!
My name is Michelle, and I’m a licensed professional counselor in Colorado, as well as nationally certified. I am glad that you have made the decision to reach out to speak to someone and begin your journey. Therapy can sometimes be uncomfortable, but this is normal. Sometimes just having the opportunity to speak with someone who will hear you and hold your hope until you can step into the light can be the direction you need to find your path.
I have over 5 years experience in both private practice and corrections, specializing in depression, anxiety, sexual assault, PTSD, relationship issues, parenting challenges, and grief and loss. I am also a 21 year military spouse with two adult children. I especially enjoy working with our active duty service members and veterans.
My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, humanistic and interpersonal counseling. I tend to me more relaxed, and feel that my clients would describe me as caring, sometimes challenging, but always there with you, as you unpack your concerns. I want you to feel comfortable to share things that cause you to pause in your daily life. Please communicate freely and let me know what is working and what I can change.
Existing is not living. We will work together to process and manage emotions, reduce anxiety, improve sleep and communication by identifying the triggers and distortions that cause difficulties. I can offer support and guidance through a difficult situation or a new direction in life. Choosing a therapist can be daunting. I will provide a safe, welcoming space to begin your journey toward a healthy, balanced life.
