About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist residing in the beautiful state of Washington. I received a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University in 2012. After that, I began my career working in a community mental health setting providing mental health services for clients who may not have been able to afford counseling in a traditional private practice setting. Once my time ended there, I started working in a setting that provided behavioral services to children with autism and providing support to their caregivers/families. Both settings were very rewarding for me as I gained valuable experience and insight working with different populations from different backgrounds. I currently work in private practice in the Seattle, WA area.

I find a passion working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and racial identity issues. I believe we make meaning of the world around us from the surroundings we grew up in. Sometimes those environments are unhealthy and have caused us to develop unhealthy ways of coping with life and that is where our struggles with anxiety and depression originate.

My job is to be present with you as we work together towards helping you work on the goals that you set in counseling. Many times I discover when people uncover their core beliefs and values and start living towards those ideals they can live a healthier and richer life.
I believe you are the experts in your own lives and it is my job to highlight your resiliency and strengths for you to build upon to live the life you want. I do that by using an eclectic approach that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as a systemic theory approach.

Mike has been amazing. We were working on opening up and being vulnerable and since I started dating someone shortly after I started with Mike, our sessions really helped me be very aware and consciously build the relationship. He is very understanding and calm, with a superpower of asking the right questions at the right time. He opened my eyes to many things I would not see otherwise! I totally recommend!

I have been working with Mike for a few months now and feel like I can write a proper review. From the beginning he was very caring and compassionate, friendly but professional. He responds in a timely manner and always tries to offer up support, encouragement, and alternate perspectives. Mike has been amazing help.

In a few messages with Mike, I can tell that he is a great listener, and someone who is paying full attention to your words. He is also quite resourceful in some ways in regards to dealing with anxiety, and you can feel that he really puts effort and care into his counseling.

Mike shared some incredibly helpful advice. I found relief and soothing after a couple sessions and it really helped the way I navigated my own mind, and relationships. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone struggling with themselves.

I am more confident and happier about the decisions I make, more positive about the future and my boundaries are stronger, all credit goes to Dr. Lombard. He is an excellent counsellor and human being.

Mike has been wonderful. He has made me think about my world more intensely and how my own behavior is shaping that world. He has made me acknowledge my past and better understand the influence it has had on my adult life. So far this has been a very positive experience. Sometimes it has been painful and emotional to recall past events but then learning their influence and that I am not simply broken has been a weight lifted. The strategies to 'fix me' have already started to yield positive returns in my life and dare I say that I am even a little excited about being out of my comfort zone.

Once I got used to the format of the service I found it useful and practical for me to isolate and prescribe solutions and strategies for coping with issues in my life. Just having someone to unload all of those issues I found hugely beneficial.

Mike has been very patient open honest and friendly about helping me address my concerns and asking honest questions that help me think about my issues with a different perspective.

For me the biggest freedom comes with feeling confident about revealing my deepest darkest secrets free of any sense of embarrassment and I never felt like Mike was judging me but instead was able to take a refreshingly honest reflection
