Greetings! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of WI and MO. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Ball State University in 1995. I have enjoyed over 16 years experience in a variety of settings. These include online therapy, community counseling, in-home therapy, in-patient treatment for eating disorders, and counseling within a correctional institution for substance-related disorders. I have helped people with a range of issues, including anxiety, trauma, attention deficit, depression, relationship issues, career issues, eating disorders, and substance abuse.
As I work with you, my desire is that you always feel heard, understood, and validated. I hope to gain your trust and build a personal yet therapeutic relationship with you. Beyond this, I want to share practical tools and skills to help you accomplish your goals and feel better. I have many tools in my pocket to share with you that come from Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Internal Family Systems therapy approaches.
I have found that one of the benefits of online counseling is that you have the ability to pace your therapy. I am here to meet you where you are at. Whether you desire to dive into this process with intensity or take a more laid back approach until you feel more comfortable, whether you desire to be given lots of structured assignments or just talk about your day and know that I will sincerely listen, I will respect your needs and what you desire to get out of your therapy. I will check in and communicate with you up to 3 times per day, five days a week.
