About Me

My name is Minerva M. King, LCSW, and I am a Survivor. Over a decade after earning my master’s degree with honors from Florida Atlantic University I specialize in therapies which include Rapid Trauma Resolution/Hypnosis, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Victims Services, and Certified Sex Offender Treatment, among others. I am also a Qualified Clinical Supervisor securing competency, knowledge and skill in the next generation of Social Workers. All endeavors dedicated toward the improvement of mental health wellness for a better quality of life for all who are ready to realize their potential.

For almost 15 years, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, I serviced individuals and families, face to face in agency and individual private practice settings. Confident that I could make a greater difference in assisting survivors of the pandemic, I transitioned my delivery of services into an E-Counseling practice. My hope is to offer an extended reach of accessible, affordable, and accountable therapeutic services, while respecting your safety and circumstances during this time of crisis.

Throughout my practice I’ve had the privilege of serving 1000’s of clients, and many of their families. The most rewarding outcomes in treatment began with negative narratives transitioning into the impressive development of emotional intelligence, hence allowing for newly forged positive story lines. In working with you, I utilize a strength-based approach focused on empowering mind, body and spirit. A commitment that I myself made many years ago in my journey toward healing and happiness. Change can only take place when awareness is achieved. Awareness is the key to improving understanding to self; improving relationship with others; increasing management of thoughts, emotions and behavior.

During our time together I will encourage you to engage in exercises related to the many tools and techniques discovered during our sessions. All resources I provide you are specific to your goals. All information discussed during our sessions will be private and confidential unless there is reason to believe that you, a child, elderly or others may be at risk of being harmed. You will be sharing as much or as little sensitive and intimate information with me, your therapist. throughout our sessions. Initially you may not be used to sharing your most private and intimate details with someone not personally familiar to you. It is not my role as a clinician to make judgments, give advice or force solutions. Rather the therapist’s role is to help you find the best course of action taking into consideration your beliefs, culture, lifestyle, value and revealed circumstances. In therapy the focus is always on you. You may find yourself enjoying the therapeutic time that is solely devoted to you.

Has boundless energy, engages you , able to give you insight into why you may experience the troubles and somehow at the same time ( that is her amazing skill) gives you ways, multiple ways to work with the issue. She gives you immediate ways to work with the problem but also gives you tools for long term , tools that will help you thrive, master more easily the challenges that life gives you .

Minnie is very perceptive, compassionate and knowledgeable. She is extremely easy to talk to and provides valuable direct insight. She is present in every session and help you to better understand how therapy is helping you specifically. Minnie is responsive to outreach. I found Minnie through Better Help and I feel like she we meant for me. I've been in a number of different therapies with many different therapists over 25 years. In the few short months we've been together, I have seen a DRASTIC change in my mental health and, subsequently, my physical health. Minnie uses many different techniques to allow me to feel safe, heard, respected and with the space to truly heal. I wish everyone could have someone like her in their mental health journey. Minnie is the far best therapist I know and ever opened up too and felt really confident and comfortable with. I had a lot of other therapist and I had to pull back and cancel and find some one else . I thank God I found Minnie King ! She’s the best and she’s very supportive! Trust me I’m no one to open up too ! I kept a lot of shit to myself and even from family and wife ! I trusted no one and I still trust no one , but with Minnie it’s different! Minnie is an extremely empathetic, funny and understanding person. She has really helped me a lot working on my anxiety and she always has the right words to make me feel better.
She will promptly offer additional counseling when necessary which made me feel fully supported.

I have tried different therapists but Minerva is the only one I have truly connected to. She is genuine and kind but will also give you some tough love when needed. My life has changed for the better since being a part of her counselling service. Cannot recommend her enough.

I started counselling with Minnie to overcome issues of self-esteem, self-confidence, anxiety, depression...and some others I can't quite put my finger on at the moment.
I found our sessions to be extremely helpful as she is a very patient, attentive, genuine, and understanding. I think that facing underlying mental health issues is quite a difficult thing, but with the right environment, tools, and support system, you are sure to succeed in your journey of healing. During our sessions, I felt seen, understood, capable, human. I fought to hold back my tears a few times but inevitably gave in!
Minnie has a sense of humour that is sure to bring you joy, and a vibrant personality to match. She has helped me uncover and address several problem areas of mine - some even stemming from childhood. There has been an active effort to stay in touch, and an endless supply of supportive messages - she truly goes above and beyond to help me better myself! As a result, I now feel absolutely confident in my abilities, my worth, and my boundaries, my relationships (current and future).
I am simply full of gratitude! There are many tools that I can use in my future to help me become the best version, and truest version of myself that I can be.
I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a counsellor who can really tailor the sessions for you - and she will do it without you even noticing or asking!

I was hesitant to start therapy for a variety of reasons. However my main anxieties stemmed from the fear that a therapist might not know how to deal with my internal crazy. Eventually, I took the courage to start therapy with Minnie and she has exceeded my expectations. Her outstanding knowledge and expertise blew me away, ultimately shifting my mind set from complete isolation into a realm of hope, positivity and mental well-being. My conditions with trauma, OCD and anxiety had taken over my life, and I never thought cognitive behavioral therapy would make a difference in such a short amount of time. Yet with Minnie’s unquestionable sympathy and support, I noticed a huge spiritual and psychological growth within me.
