About me

I appreciate you taking a personal initiative of becoming a better you. It takes a great deal of courage to better your life and situation(s), to which I applaud you in doing so. If you choose for us to work together, you will be met with warmth and compassion, as I am not here to place judgement nor unproductive criticism. Counseling should be a partnership and I will always meet you with respect, sensitivity, and understanding while empowering you to take the steps needed in becoming the best version of yourself. If you are ready to take this step then I am here ready to take that step with you.

I want to share some background information of my education, work experiences, and therapeutic frameworks. I received a master’s degree in counseling psychology (MS) from Avila University in 2013 and am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri. Thus far, I have obtained knowledge and expertise in working with individuals experiencing addictions, negative mental health symptoms, and relationship/familial issues. In addition, I have provided counseling and assessment in residential, outpatient, community mental health settings, and places of incarceration.

I utilize an eclectic therapeutic approach, as no one person is alike. I merry two therapeutic frameworks of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy. These two frameworks are centered around the notion that each individual is the expert of themselves and holds the key in uncovering the solutions to their unique problems. Additionally, psychotherapy will assist in helping one become more aware of negative or inaccurate thinking, so that you can face new challenges in a more productive clearer thought pattern. As we explore therapy, it is my hope that you will find clarity of your own thoughts and understand your feelings better. It is important to know that we will have a therapeutic relationship where I will assist you in exploring the outcomes of your decisions rather than guiding you to a particular decision/conclusion.

I look forward in working with you and seeing your life become what you wish it to be!

I love having Miranda as a therapist. She always makes me feel heard and understood. She replies quickly and I always feel like her replies are very compassionate and supportive.

Miranda is amazing! She is quick to respond and she responds with compassion and kindness. She listens to me and supports me all the way through the process of my therapy journey. She makes me feel comfortable and I fully trust her. She helps me find the best options or coping skills for myself rather than just telling me what to do. She checks in on me and that really means a lot. She is very easy to talk to and I definitely recommend Miranda to anyone looking for a down to earth therapist who truly cares. I honestly hope she is my therapist forever, she is that amazing!

This app says even in the survey that video is available, but that is misleading in that it does not appear to be an option. I am having a second appointment with my therapist by phone, if that does not suffice I will be discontinuing to use this platform despite the therapist being highly qualified .

I have been working with Miranda for a little over three months now. I was hesitant when I started since it was online and not face-to-face, but that quickly changed. Miranda listens intently and always seem to circle around at the end of a session to things that we had talked about in previous sessions. If I don’t post in a couple of days, she will reach out to check on things. Even though we have never met face-to-face, I feel I can tell her any of my hidden secrets and she will follow along the journey with me.

Working with Miranda is everything I had hoped therapy could be. In less than a year, I have been guided to have the confidence to call myself out when necessary, and have the peace of mind to make mindful, measured decisions without worrying about the factors that are out of my control. 10/10, would recommend working with this absolute angel.

She is a good therapist with a fair approach but she’s incompetent when it comes to time management. She had to change appointment times or was totally late and we had to reschedule, more times than I’d care for. Enough times for me to be talking about it. I feel like therapists have a duty to play when it comes to that. Your clients come to you for YOUR help, and then you give them a reason to not to want it anymore. I hope you change and organize your life better.
