About me

Thank you for your interest in working with me. I love what I do and am excited to work with you! Facing fear is difficult and I want to help my client to see that beyond fear is hope, opportunity, and personal growth. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker currently licensed in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, with 22 years of professional work experience in a variety of settings. Other credentials are Certified Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor through the state of New York. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, PTSD, addictions, & motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I have worked as a civilian with the Army for the past 9 years, 5 of which were in South Korea as the chief of behavioral health in my region. This experience enhanced my cultural competency skills by working with Service Members and their families from all over the world with complex issues associated with military service.

There is no one size fits all treatment modality. Therefore, I utilized a variety of evidenced-based therapies and techniques in my "toolbox" consisting of Client centered, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Processing, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies to name a few. I incorporate mindfulness and lifestyle change techniques and utilize experiential exercises and various worksheets in therapy. I work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan to reach YOUR personal short and long-term goals. Most importantly, I create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.

I am described by past clients as "genuine, compassionate, committed, patient, non-judgmental, empathic, good listener". I also have a good sense of humor. Therapy need not always be serious and somber. Let's take an introspective, contemplative, thoughtful journey together. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am grateful to learn from and support you in that process.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Miriam Linzenberg. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I never expected to connect with a therapist remotely as well as I was able to with Miriam. She validated my needs, offered excellent guidance, and always made me feel comfortable. As a result of our sessions, I feel I have truly found myself on a better path- one I always knew was there, but didn't know how to access until she helped me find the tools.

Miriam (Mimi) is THE BEST. She definitely gets me, understand my circumstances, and our sessions are beyond helpful. She provides specific assistance. For example, I recently watched a video that was inspiring and certainly spoke volumes to me regarding my current situation. She also provides handouts regarding the stages of grief, active listening, and more. To me, Mimi is irreplaceable. I look forward to my ongoing work with her. Thank you.
