About Me

I am licensed clinician and art therapist with 5 years of experience working extensively with clients from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, trauma recovery, life transitions, and more.

I am dedicated to providing a safe, nonjudgmental, and encouraging environment that promotes increased self awareness, healing, and growth. My collaborative, eclectic, and creative approach to therapy combines evidenced based approaches: compassion-focused, trauma focused cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, and art therapy. I tailor the dialog and treatment plan to meet the unique and specific needs of each client.

I believe in the healing power of creative expression, that guidance is key to the therapeutic process, and that a supportive relationship is necessary to guide the therapy experience - and helps us to find personal meaning along the way.

I look forward to working with you.

Written by N.I. on Sep 14, 2021 after counseling with Monique for 2 weeks on issues concerning stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, and bipolar disorder
