About Me
First let me just say congratulations! It takes courage to seek help. You’ve taken the first step on a journey to wholehearted living. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 16 years, I have partnered with individuals and families from all walks of life and facing a range of challenges, people just like you who want to feel more peace and joy and less pain and conflict. I serve as a guide, a support to help you build on your strengths and find ways to remove or work around the barriers you face and the areas where you feel stuck but you are the expert on you!
Therapy doesn’t have a one size fits all so I will pull from a range of therapeutic interventions to find a strategy that best serves you. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and CBT generally. I have a whole person approach so mental health is only one aspect to optimal wellness. I also pull from my background and life experience so let me tell you a little about me…
I am a bi-racial and adopted into an interracial family from birth. I grew up in a home with vast diversity of not only race but country, language and religion. So I deeply value the diverse experiences we all bring. I am a mother of children from ages 28 to 5 (nope not a typo) and can related to the challenges of parenthood whether single or married. My faith has helped me overcome the most difficult of life’s challenges but I am not here to judge or convert anyone.
I am grateful you are here seeking what we all need to grow and thrive, someone in our corner! If I can be that person for you, please reach out to me in whatever way is most convenient for you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Monisha Mitchell . We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Working with Monisha has changed the way I think about myself and the world around me for the better. At the risk of sounding cliche, working with her has my life.
The best therapist I ever had!
Monisha is a thoughtful and wonderful counselor. She takes the time to listen to you, clarifies if she is intercepting your thoughts and feelings as you tell them to her and offers meaningful strategies to accomplish your goals. I would highly recommend her as a counselor.
I’ve only began working with Monisha for a short period of time however I feel I am beginning to make progress. She offer techniques where I don’t feel good overwhelmed and for me to remember to take small steps to reach big goals.
Very helpful thus far.
Monisha is a wonderful counsellor who listens attentively, asks introspective questions and provides practical methods to work on various things. i feel very comfortable talking to her!
Monisha is very compassionate and you felt heard, even when you feel like you're tripping over your words trying to get it all out. When dealing with depression and anxiety, she was very helpful in giving me the tools to succeed and guiding me through taking small but purposeful steps towards better coping skills. I appreciate her skills and approach and am grateful that I am working with her.
Monisha is so sweet, active listener, and very helpful. She makes you feel heard and takes her time.
She was very understanding and while we covered a lot of getting started info in the first session, she also listened to a lot of details of what was going on which was really nice. Thank you!
Monisha Mitchell is a very kind and understanding person. She makes it easy to open up about what is going on with my everyday life and my past. She has a great knowledge of all things we discuss and she seems to sincerely care! I would highly recommend her to anyone that is need of help.
Of course I was nervous at first, I’ve done this before a few time’s in person. It didn’t go too well. With Monisha you feel at home, she was really easy to talk to and made the experience amazing. I’m excited to dig deeper and really fix this crazy brain of mine. It may be a good thing or a bad thing, but I really feel my way with people, little facial expressions or tone of voice, a slight change in how they say something, usually that’s an indicator of being comfortable depending on the outcome. I felt no discomfort no reason to put up a shield, I’m excited for the sessions to come.
I’ve been in counselling with Monisha for about 3 weeks now, it’s been going great I feel like a weight of my shoulders have gone and I feel a lot calmer.
