About Me

Dr. Anderson is a collaborative, strengths-based therapist. She approaches treatment with an integrative approach that pulls interventions from psychodynamic, object relations, and cognitive behavioral therapies. Dr. Anderson believes change is possible through a supportive and dynamic working relationship between therapist and client. Dr. Anderson provides a warm, supportive relationship that encourages open and honest feedback. Dr. Anderson works together with clients to find the style that fits each individual and aligns with the treatment goals. Dr. Anderson is dedicated to serving all individuals from various backgrounds and her approach to counseling in grounded in a multicultural and social justice framework. Spanish is her second language and she is passionate about serving the Latino community. Dr. Anderson is passionate about her clinical work and believes therapy provides a privileged relationship to support change and healing.

Dr. Anderson grew up in rural Montana, and also spent time in Guatemala, and Spain, before completing her graduate training near Portland, Oregon. Dr. Anderson completed two bachelor’s degrees, Spanish and Psychology, at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. Dr. Anderson went on to receive her Doctor of Psychology degree from Pacific University located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Dr. Anderson then completed her clinical internship at University of San Diego, and her post-doctoral residency at University of California San Diego. Dr. Anderson is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in a private group practice providing services to a wide range of clients in the San Diego area.

Her approach to counseling is integrative and incorporates cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, assertiveness training and mindfulness approaches.

Dr. Anderson is amazing. She really listens and understands everything that you tell her. Her insight to what you may be feeling/ experiencing is amazing as well- she points out things I didn't realize about myself for 25 years! HIGHLY recommended!!!
