About me

Greetings! My name is Dr. Nadene Chambers and I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida and Ohio. I have years of experience working with individuals, couples, and groups in a manner that is culturally sensitive and relevant. I am a non-judgmental listener who is here to offer encouragement and to provide appropriate tools to help you get through the hard times and praise your personal growth. My hope is that you are open to caring and honest feedback.

Old unhelpful habits can be hard to see sometimes, much less change. I use a variety of treatment approaches to help increase insight and assist your efforts to take care of yourself mentally and emotionally. I meet you where you're at in your growth cycle. I have experience treating complex trauma and mood difficulties including depression, bipolar disorder, and various forms of anxiety. I also have success in working with individuals with chronic health conditions (i.e. HIV, diabetes) and issues related to gender and sexual identity, and subsequent life transition concerns. I enjoy interacting with new people, and this makes my approach to therapy relatable and engaging without being condescending or bogged down by too much psychobabble. I sometimes use appropriate humor as a tool in my sessions. Together, let's work to improve self-awareness without self-consciousness, tweak your problem-solving skills, and identify healthier patterns so that you can live a life of your own choosing. Feel free to ask me any questions.

I really enjoy talking with Dr. Chambers. She makes me feel at ease and helps me see through my concerns and hang-ups.

Written on Aug 11, 2020 after therapy with Nadene for 1 month on issues concerning relationship issues, self esteem, and career difficulties

Dr. Chambers does a great job of getting me to talk and focuses the conversation on my needs as expressed by me rather than what she thinks I need. She listens carefully and offers constructive advice on how to better my understanding about the situations I'm in and how to deal with difficulties that might arise in the future.
