About me

I am a licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Registered Art Therapist in Michigan with over 14 years of experience working as a School Counselor and Art Therapist. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns including bullying, self esteem, discrimination, relationship issues and parenting problems. I have also helped many people communicate more freely by incorporating simple art techniques through our talk therapy sessions. At times, it helps to talk when there is not an actual problem or situation, but just as a release of sorts of daily life stressors.

My counseling style is open and light. I believe in treating people with respect, open-mindedness, and humanity. I utilize cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and rational-emotive counseling. We will identify what your goals need to be and break them down into small, achievable, non-intimidating steps.

There is nothing wrong with "good selfish". We take care of our bodies, our spirit and our health.... mental health is just as important!

A great therapist who understands my timeline and how I got to where I am, and therefore how I chose therapy. She understands my path, offers solutions relevant to my life and experiences, and is a great person to talk to whether it’s dire, or to just talk about life.

Nadia was incredibly helpful to me when I began talk therapy last year. When I first started therapy I was in a poor emotional state and needed someone to talk to, as I was feeling very isolated and dealing with some unresolved feelings. She is a great listener, gives good advice and was always receptive to what I had to say. I’m grateful that I was paired with her.

Nadia is amazingly present and her listening is super in tune with what my mind is thinking and my heart is feeling. Her suggestions are practical and work. She has a way of relating to me that has me laughing and feeling great. She’s my savior!

I’d like to think that in the short time Nadia has been working with me, that she’s gained a understanding of the issues I’ve presented to her so far, and has done a fair job in listening to me, allowing me to feel heard and validated, while remaining honest and unbiased, even reciprocating emotions at times. I don’t feel like I’m speaking into a void or at a wall. I feel like I’m gaining an outside perspective, knowing that her comments are for my betterment. It’s very new to me, considering I was reluctant to join therapy, but I now see the importance of therapy, and feel like I’m learning something new about myself.
