Therapy has been like talking to a good friend. The resolution focused style lets me be in control of my progress without feeling stressed over a timeline. I think virtually my depression is gone. I have some bad days but I know I have the tools to quickly turn them around by being proactive and planning for the future.

Nakeya Gore’s approach to therapy is centered on true healing and thoughtfulness that is rooted in compassion, accountability, and attainable change. Nakeya purposely fosters an understanding of who you are, what you are seeking and then devises tools, resources, or homework to aid you in healing, growth, understanding and accountable reflection. Nakeya is gentle but honest. She’s funny but professional, relatable, well-equipped to tackle a number of issues, intelligent, compassionate and thorough. She fully responds to your concerns, considers issues in your sessions and digests things for an impartial way of providing feedback with a more than likely action based task or writing (prompt) reflection that always proves to helpful and rewarding. Nakeya strives to understand your needs and provides clear pathways to healing. After seeing a few therapists and not really feeling fulfilled after a few sessions, my first sessions with Nakeya proved to be a significant change and a true pleasure. I am most certainly looking forward to my continued work with Nakeya!

I get excited for our sessions and look forward to them! Before this, I didn’t think that counseling was for me and through this, I’ve learned counseling is for everyone! Nakeya is also very great at holding you accountable to your goals and what you want to get out of counseling.
