I am a client centered therapist who values the universal need for a nonjudgmental supportive environment for which to work through life's challenges. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work and am licensed in the state of North Carolina. I have been working as a social worker and therapist over the last 18 years.
In addition to classic talk therapies, I enjoy utilizing photography and art making as therapeutic modalities in treatment. I have extensive experience in supportive counseling for adults acting as caregivers, counseling around self esteem issues, support in making life transitions and adjustments, self inquiry, depression and stress management.
I am also a level II Focusing counselor. Focusing is a mind body based modality helpful in accepting and integrating all the parts of the self, empowering your ability to make authentic life changes. Both Focusing and art use in therapy are powerful methods for self cultivation and expression, allowing positive shifts in ones life.
I look forward to our collaboration in helping you reach your personal goals.

Working with Nancy has been incredibly helpful. She listens attentively, and helps me to direct my thinking and behavior in ways that are consistent with my values, and with the person I want to be. She is very affirming, and this makes it easy to take suggestions she makes. The ideas I've gotten from her have made a noticeable difference in my mental health, and my happiness. I feel very lucky that I get to work with Nancy.
