About Me

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a firm believer that the client is the expert when it comes to their life, and I am just here as a sounding board to help the client work though their challenges and emotional struggles. I think that clients have all the answers or solutions they need; all the counselor does is listen and ask the right questions. I subscribe to choice theory, and utilize a variety of approaches including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive processing therapy. Lastly, I approach challenges from a solution-focused perspective. I also believe that everyone is different and require different needs. Therefore, we will work together to create a client specific treatment plan with your goals in mind.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in applied behavioral analysis and my Master’s degree is in mental health counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, as well as a nationally board certified counselor. I have worked in an acute psychiatric hospital for almost 3 years and now am working in a private practice setting. I am well versed in crisis interventions and verbal de-escalation. I have worked with adults and adolescents. I specialize in working with clients with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, sleep disorders, problem solving skills, and trauma. If you have any other questions about me or my credentials, feel free to ask.

Remember, it takes courage to recognize there is a problem and to ask for help. If you are ready to take the first step in getting help, I am ready to support and empower you in taking that second step. I am excited to learn more about you and start working with you towards a plan to feeling better and living your best life.
