About Me

Hi my name is Natalie Graves and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Psychology and a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling/Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy and 5 years of clinical experience working with individuals and families. My experience includes working with individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD and other impulse control disorders, substance use, parenting struggles, feelings of low self-worth, emotional dysregulation, relationship and communication difficulties, grief and loss, and adjusting to life transitions. I have worked with individuals and families from all walks of life.

My training and education have provided me with various therapeutic techniques and methodologies. I believe the foundation of any therapeutic relationship starts with the therapist being trauma-informed as well as client-centered and strengths-based. I do favor some theories more than others, such as, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. However, I am a firm believer that, even though I may be an expert in certain areas of therapeutic knowledge, I am not the expert of my client’s life. They are. I believe we all have the necessary raw materials inside of us to effect change in our own lives, but that sometimes we lose touch with this along the way and may need help getting back to ourselves so that we can live up to our full potential. I am here to help you do that. There is power in the way in which we tell our stories and my goal is to empower my client’s to take ownership of their unique stories. I absolutely love being a part of my client’s journeys and seeing the positive outcomes in their lives.
