About me

Hello!

My name is Natasha Troutman and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I have been working in private practice as well as residential facilities for the last 5 years. I am equipped to work with mild to severe mental health disorders. I specialize in anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, couples/family therapy, and life changes.

The first step towards change is always the most difficult, especially when it involves opening up to a stranger in hopes that she will relieve your suffering. However, I work with you collaboratively, offering compassionate and non-judgemental care while maintaining a sense of humor in order to reduce your anxiety around seeking therapy. I utilize solution-focused and evidence-based techniques to provide brief, structured treatments that have demonstrated proven results. Because I do not believe that anyone needs to live in suffering, the services I offer aim to help reduce distress and increase well-being.

I attended San Jose State University for graduate school where my supervisors strongly encouraged and trained me to use the practices that have the most evidence of success. I am knowledgeable about the effective treatments for all psychological disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, complicated grief, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and anxiety.

I have experience working with suicidal ideation, borderline personality disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, domestic violence, grief, anxiety, multicultural issues, and depression. I have been trained in evidence-based practices for OCD such as exposure with response prevention (ERP) as well as Cognitive Processing Theory for PTSD. In addition, I am experienced in working with children and teenagers suffering from various symptoms of distress including trauma, oppositional behaviors, and ADHD.

I have received extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). All of these treatments have profound empirical evidence to support their ability to lead to positive outcomes.

I look working with you to assist you in increasing your quality of life!

Natasha is amazing. She is super helpful and has many resources and suggestions. I have already put her suggestions into action, and already feel so much better. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist.
