About me

I am Nate Wagner and have been practicing counseling for close to a decade. I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Master of Arts in Counseling and have practiced counseling in a wide variety of settings. What I enjoy most about being a counselor is the privilege of entering into another person's story and being able to play a small part in helping people process and grow from a wide variety of difficult situations and circumstances. I am constantly in awe of the resilience and beauty of the human spirit and it is a joy to be able to walk with people on their unique journey. I typically will provide a loosely structured format in counseling in which specific goals are identified and the partnership between counselor and counselee is one of mutual trust, understanding, respect, and where personal dignity is honored. I have found (and research shows) that the counseling relationship is the most important factor in successful outcomes, therefore I make every effort to have that relationship grow and flourish with trust. Special areas of focus include: anxiety, depression, unwanted behaviors, life transitions and adjustments, decision making, goal-setting, grief and loss, "imposter syndrome", negative thinking, and relationship issues. I look forward to working with you and learning about your story!

I had a low point in life and wasn't sure where to go about it. Nate in particular has been a big help in giving me the tools I needed mentally.

He is a good counselor, a good mix between a tradtional counselor and a bible counselor. He is the type of person who will use bible examples to help you understand and see your situation in a different perspective. He also uses techniques that modern counselors would use to help you deal with your problems

Being a counselor myself it's extremely difficult to find someone who seems to understand and also be able to provide insight on an intuitive level rather than just tasks or techniques. I appreciate Mr. Wagner's insight into my world and note his checking in and focus on being present with me during the sessions.

Nate has given me a lot of support during difficult moments in 2020. With his help I’ve become more comfortable with emotions that I’ve been neglecting and suppressing. He also gave me great tools to look at my irrational fears and to set boundaries with others. He’s a great listener and holds a safe space without judgement. I’m so grateful for what we’ve been working on.
