My name is Nathaniel Mitchell. I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker in the State of Mississippi, with over 22 years of experience helping individuals and families with various concerns. I received a Master of Social Work degree from Jackson State University. I earned a Doctor of Social Work degree, specializing in Theories and Techniques in Marriage, Couple, Family Counseling, Child and Adolescent Counseling, Prevention, Intervention, and Consultation, from Walden University. I have worked in various settings with individuals and families who experienced personal issues such as Adjustment Issues, Anxiety, Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorders, Depression, Grief and Loss, Low Self-Esteem, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. I utilize evidence-based interventions, and I am culturally- sensitive and person-centered. I am currently a Certified Trauma Practitioner-Clinical and a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist.

You have taken a step of courage and hope. I empathized with the anxious stage of trusting someone with your story and presentation. We all want to share our thoughts, feelings, and experiences and be accepted and understood. I will meet you where you are on your journey. I am honored to partner with you to explore and find coping skills and techniques to develop control, peace, and strengths.

I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Mitchell is the absolute best! He is my first therapist, and I don't think I could ever change. He is so caring, funny, intelligent, energetic, respectful, and approachable. He will also tell you how it is and be blunt when it's appropriate, to give you a push in the right direction. Dr. Mitchell makes you feel special, and like you are his only patient. He studies you because he really wants to help you throughout your healing processes. Dr. Mitchell will meet you wherever you are and help you in whatever area of life you are struggling with. If more people had Dr. Mitchell as their therapist, the world would be a better place!

I have recently began therapy for the first time in my life and was matched with Dr. Mitchell. The very first session I feel helped him to create the right treatment that I need to ensure that I can begin having a more positive outlook on life. I realized that in order for therapy to work I have to be open and willing to do the work that is necessary. Dr. Mitchell creates a positive space to be open and talk about the problems I am having with my everyday life while also offering ways for me to stay within the present. He meets you where you're and will give you tools, reading material and assignments to help you along your path. Very supportive and positive.
