Dr. Mitchell is the absolute best! He is my first therapist, and I don't think I could ever change. He is so caring, funny, intelligent, energetic, respectful, and approachable. He will also tell you how it is and be blunt when it's appropriate, to give you a push in the right direction. Dr. Mitchell makes you feel special, and like you are his only patient. He studies you because he really wants to help you throughout your healing processes. Dr. Mitchell will meet you wherever you are and help you in whatever area of life you are struggling with. If more people had Dr. Mitchell as their therapist, the world would be a better place!

I have recently began therapy for the first time in my life and was matched with Dr. Mitchell. The very first session I feel helped him to create the right treatment that I need to ensure that I can begin having a more positive outlook on life. I realized that in order for therapy to work I have to be open and willing to do the work that is necessary. Dr. Mitchell creates a positive space to be open and talk about the problems I am having with my everyday life while also offering ways for me to stay within the present. He meets you where you're and will give you tools, reading material and assignments to help you along your path. Very supportive and positive.

Dr. Mitchell really listens, understands and always outstanding. He makes me feel like he knows already without me even saying completely just how I'm feeling or possibly thinking. It's definitely a calling for him and I'm super excited that I was blessed for having his teachings and guidance as to helping me.

Originally, when I came to BetterHelp, I had been sort of adrift for years. Starting from the age of 15 until I was 21 years old, I was depressed and repressed, and while the depression eventually did subside, the horrible habits, low self esteem and self worth, intrusive thoughts, and out of control emotions did not.
Eventually, my mother recommended BetterHelp to me, but it took months for me to finally place the call, and it did take some bargaining, to be fully honest.
My first few sessions with Dr. Mitchell back in March of 2022 were sort of awkward and aimless, as I never did much like phone calls, but over time I was able to find direction. We connected in an intersectional way, sharing our concerns and feelings about belonging to minority groups as a basis to build off of.
With active and enthusiastic participation, learning from his stories used as examples of the points he was trying to illustrate, I was able to learn the tactics and tools I needed to recognize my poor mental and emotional habits and the behaviors they were creating, and then I learned to turn them around.
I'm not saying that I'm "cured", or that I won't face these issues in the future, but as a team, we worked to equip me with the tools that I needed to fight back against the things that were keeping me down. If you're motivated to improve, and to solve the problems that you face in your life, in your behaviors, and in your thoughts, then Dr. Mitchell will be able to help you to learn the skills you need to be who you are.

Dr Mitchell is by far the best therapist I have had on this platform. He is well experienced in aiding health care workers myself with PTSD, but also treats you more like a person than a diagnosis. He challenges you, he listens a lot rather than talk, his words are blunt but said with a tremendous amount of love. Dr Mitchell goes above and beyond what I expected of any BetterHelp therapist, it's often like talking to a friend.

Dr. Mitchell is different than any therapist I've seen in the past. Imagine a fitness trainer, but for your mental health. A mental fitness trainer if you must. Dr. Mitchell shows time and time again his dedication to helping his clients. He takes an active role in therapy to help you work through different issues. Dr. Mitchell even challenges me to continue to engage and take an active role in my progress. I came to Dr. Mitchell with complex issues, and he has been dedicated to working through them with me for many months. I'm appreciative of Dr. Mitchell, and look forward to continuing my progress with him as my guide.

When I came to Dr Mitchell, I was broken. I was going through the dissolution of my 17 year relationship where the last 9 were not good. I felt it was my fault for not being an able to communicate like a wife should. Honestly I thought if I fixed me with therapy, then I could possibly convince him to stay. That was my goal in therapy with Dr. Mitchell. As my therapy sessions progressed, they got more intense and more came out. I also had unresolved feelings for my recently deceased father and a sexual trauma in my early years where I never received counseling. I'd developed unhealthy coping mechanisms such as avoidance and denial. I'd assume all the blame when something went wrong, regardless of participants. Dr. Mitchell helped me process all of those unresolved feelings. The dissolution of the relationship which I felt was tragedy became a blessing. I'd lost myself in that relationship. I'd changed me for him and I walked on egg shells in a relationship that should've brought me peace for 9 years. Dr Mitchell helped me through that journey to the point where we refocused our sessions on self actualization and awareness. Now I love me and it's not selfish to say that. I will never sacrifice my peace for another. I will retain my individuality regardless of my mate. I am worthy of being loved and treated well by a man who gives his time willingly. Dr. Mitchell is invested in his patients and their goals. He is the best and I am forever grateful!

Dr. Mitchell is an awesome therapist, and he’s encouraging. He empathised with me, explained how core values are useful in life. Dr. Mitchell is a very good therapist as he cuts out the fluff and gets to the meat of what is truly plaguing you. Sometimes him being straight to the point can be rough, but it is appreciated as it saves time and lets you understand what’s happening and why it’s happening faster. After offering his insight on your “issue”, he explains what it is, how it began, why it began, and offers valuable methods on how to fix it. He is personable in his methods as he truly wants to help you. He takes time to make sure you understand what’s going on in the sense that understanding is the first step to overcoming. He offers outside assignments after each session to solidify what he said during the sessions for further help. He also offers tips on how to further yourself outside of each session. In the short time that we have been paired, Dr. Mitchell has opened my mind up to many things about myself and has helped me significantly in my walk. A phenomenal therapist. 5/5

So I’m new to the therapist thing, I was a little scared at first about letting someone especially someone I didn’t know into my life and personal life secrets, but when I tell you Dr. Mitchell is heaven sent, I was grieving over my mother and father death and I was weak as I don’t know what from the ups and downs of life but hilt me back up, he gave me confidence and after a couple weeks it showed in me that I was changing for the better.. I had a full plate of problems but Dr. Mitchell analyzes your situations/problems and he works it out to u so you can develop and grow. I advise anyone reading this to definitely chose him, you won’t be disappointed. The love I have for myself is back, the strength is back, the confidence is back and most importantly the love for a companion is too….

Dr. Mitchell is not only knowledgeable, but kind and enthusiastic. Having had a number of negative experiences with therapists in the past, I was nervous about returning to counseling. Dr. Mitchell has helped me so much in the past few months, and my once pervasive fear of counseling is gone; I feel like I am talking to a friend each week. Dr. Mitchell's motivation is infectious, and his investment in my improvements, my difficulties, and understanding my perspective has been invaluable. I could not recommend him more highly.

Dr. Mitchell is an excellent therapist who is passionate about his work, extremely knowledgeable, and consistently attentive with his clients. He helped me develop healthy coping skills during a very difficult time in my life and I could not recommend him highly enough. Never once did he display any lack of attentiveness, he always knew exactly where we had left off the week before. The homework assignments he gave out were always relevant and helpful. Several times when I had to cancel sessions due to scheduling conflicts he helped me reschedule the same week, even though he was under no obligation to do so. I really could not recommend him highly enough. If this platform had a rating system I'd give him five stars. I have benefited from my time with Dr. Mitchell in a way that I believe has impacted the trajectory of my life for the better and I really don't know what more you can ask for from a therapist.

My experience with Dr. Mitchell has been excellent towards my goal of breaking the cycle of depression. He was phenomenal at addressing my concern and what I wanted to work towards and gave me relative and relatable advice towards achieving my goal. He was able to help isolate my issues and put exercises into action in order to help restructure my way of thinking. Working with him, Dr. Mitchell improved my knowledge on how therapy really works and expanded my idea of CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) as well as REBT (rational emotive behavior therapy). I absolutely recommend Dr. Mitchell as a therapist if you suffer from depression and anxiety. He will work diligently to help increase your quality of life.
