Hello. I am Dr. Nena Kircher, a licensed Clinical Psychologist in multiple states. I completed my MA in Clinical Psychology in 2007 and my PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) in 2009. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and with individuals who had a range of concerns. My primary areas of focus include stress and anger management, working with survivors of trauma and abuse, managing issues related to chronic pain and other health related concerns, managing impulsivity and compulsive behaviors (e.g. compulsive online behaviors), and intimacy and sexual concerns.
My therapeutic style is direct. I communicate in a straightforward manner, with an emphasis on skills we can use to improve our day to day life. My primary therapeutic modality is cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which involves understanding how our thoughts and emotions lead to our behaviors and using this understanding to change the patterns that are unhealthy or simply unhelpful in our lives. I am trained in both Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have also utilized and found benefit from both these techniques in my own life. I also frequently incorporate narrative therapy or bibliotherapy into my work with clients. This involves using storytelling (through books, movies, etc.) to help make sense of the problems in our own lives. As a therapist, my role is not to tell you what to do and I do not have all the answers. However, I can join you on your journey for a while and help you find some useful tools for managing the major and minor stressors of life.
Finally, I want to congratulate you on your decision to take the first step toward making healthy changes in your life. I look forward to the privilege of working with you.

Dr. Kircher is AMAZING! She is patient, relatable and always helps me find my path. There is no judgement when I share, simply a calm response with guiding questions that leave me hopeful and more at peace. I may wrestle with challenging thoughts from the questions! - but always in a way that is pointing me towards my goals in life.
Dr Kircher has been a great help to me, patiently and attentively listening to my thoughts, and offering considered advice and guidance in return. She is very prompt and attentive in responding to my messages and proactively checks in on a regular basis to make sure I’m doing ok. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Nina is a beautiful human. Consistency is great to have in a therapist as well as communication, and she was able to deliver on both counts.
I enjoyed the nerd talks and the guidance. Highly recommend.
Thank you again, Nina!
Dr. Kirtcher Is amazing. Grieving for the loss of my brother from suicide I knew I needed to reach out for help. It took me weeks to start “talking”. Once I got into to the groove. I wished I would have talked to her sooner.
Nena is a magnificent counselor and I feel so safe opening up to her. Her expertise and experience are evident in how she helps, but she is equally compassionate and relatable. I look forward to our sessions every week!
Dr. Kircher helped me so much in a short amount of time. Between Covid, having a new baby and the stresses of life, her straightforward and intuitive style was so helpful and wonderful. I would recommend her to anyone!
You will DEFINITELY see results and progress if you're as present and motivated to work with her as she is to work with you. She gets right to business with you and has helped me so much. With her guidance I have gained more control of myself than I have felt in a very long time. Thank you Doc!
Dr. Kircher is knowledgeable and compassionate in her dealings with me. She follows up with worksheets, exercises, and reading assignments to do that are very helpful for me in working through my myriad of challenges. I would recommend her without hesitation to friends.
I've only had a couple of sessions with Dr. Kircher but I already enjoy how calm and rational she is. As well, she adds just enough about her life and experiences that help the sessions feel more like a conversation and as a reminder that we all deal with problems in our lives and you're not alone.
Dr Kircher listened to the issues that brought me to counseling and offered helpful ways to manage. Dr Kircher checks in with me periodically makes me feel valued.
Builds rapport fast and picks up on your main concerns but refers to your needs. Seems great resources that further your understanding of how to resolve issues. Loved the experience so much, I signed up for a year!
Dr. Kircher is very helpful in giving tools and words of wisdom to help overcome fears and anxiety I have. She’s very kind and is comfortable to talk with.
