About Me

With more than 10 years of experience helping people successfully handle challenges, improve their mental health and enhance their relationships I have learned one thing about life... people are stronger than they know. You are stronger than you know and have proved it by simply reaching out for help.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland, a National Certified Counselor, and Certified Health Education Specialist. I have a BA in Psychology from West Virginia University, a MS in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Maryland, and a MS in Health Promotion from Maryland University of Integrative Health. In addition to being a therapist, I am also a dedicated mental health advocate, stigma fighter, and public speaker.

My counseling style is one of love, compassion, and kindness as well as an honest and fearless look at what isn't working in your life and what can be done. I utilize an eclectic array of treatment approaches including Client-centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy to help people struggling with a number of different issues including depression, anxiety, fear, lack of motivation or confidence, relationship issues, and many others.

I hope that we get a chance to walk together on this journey as I would feel delighted to help you with whatever challenges you face.

When I get a response from Nick regarding something we're working on, I feel like he really gets it.

I feel at ease when communicating with Nick. Probably the result of confidence and trust in him as a professional and as a good human being.

Nick is very attentive to my desires for what I want to focus on, but also firm when he thinks there may be more pressing concerns. He is very supportive, listens well, and makes himself available via chat room and video sessions. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my experience with Nick.
