My name is Nicki Olson, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Minnesota. I have been providing therapy and counseling services for 6 years. I attended The College of St. Benedict for my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I then got my Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary's University in Minneapolis. After receiving my degree I began providing in-home skills and therapy to children (ages 2-18). I then began doing outpatient therapy with families and couples as well as adults and individuals of all ages. I have the most experience with kids and adolescents but I feel comfortable meeting with adults, families, and couples as well. I am trained in TFCBT and I often use a cognitive behavioral approach in session. I am a very solution-focused therapist also, I want to help you determine your goals and focus on the present and future. I am very interested in working with LGBTQ+ individuals as well as hoarding disorder. I am comfortable working with depression, anxiety, ADHD, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, and relationship problems. My educational background is focused on the family system and viewing the client and family as a whole.
When I was a sophomore in college I went to therapy for the first time. I had always struggled with anxiety and depression but never understood how debilitating my anxiety was. After I began therapy, I learned how to handle my symptoms and manage my day-to-day life. It was then that I decided to become a therapist to assist others and provide the same support I was able to receive.

Nicki is a great therapist! She is down to earth and keeps you from spiraling because she redirects in a way that is actually helpful, without feeling like she just wants you to move on. She's able to recognize what you need in each session vs forcing you to fit a specific format.
