About me

Hi there! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Washington State and Massachusetts, and I place a high value on therapeutic "fit": when a client finds the right therapist and that relationship is carefully cultivated over time in a collaborative environment built on trust, healing and transformation can follow. I use warmth, humor, and authenticity to create a safe space for my clients to explore deep existential questions and engineer systems of lifestyle and relationship change.

Therapy itself is a relationship. If we are a good fit, we will cocreate a therapeutic space that is tailored for your unique goals. I enjoy going down the rabbit hole with my clients, which brings an element of existentialism into my work. I integrate this with a solution-focused, here-and-now approach that asks, "what can you do right now - today, and throughout this week - to feel better?" I have experience supporting clients living with anxiety, depression, BPD, chronic stress, life transitions, trauma, domestic violence, relationship and parenting issues, personality disorders, self-harm and suicidality. I look to my clients as the experts in their own life experience, and I strive to incorporate awareness around diversity in all of its forms and its impact on how my clients move through the world.

I obtained a Master of Science degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The College of New Jersey with minors in Religious Studies and Arabic Language. I have helped individuals, couples and families improve their lives and relationships across three cities in the last five years, practicing in Philadelphia and Boston before relocating to Seattle with my family.

I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Nicole Brown. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I can say only positive things about my experience with Nicole. She was an excellent listener, and seemed to know when I simply needed to be heard, and when suggestions or advice would be helpful. She responded right away to my emails. She checked in with me frequently. I appreciated being able to connect both by phone and email. I do not enjoy talking on the phone in general, but Nicole made me comfortable even in that setting. She was always very professional, always courteous, and I would highly recommend her.

I think Nicole is a wonderful counselor. I feel very comfortable telling her what is going on with my life and what I am feeling. She has both the education and the insights to give me helpful suggestions.

Nicole has challenged me in ways that have really shifted my thinking and helped me heal on a new level. I would 100% recommend her to anyone who's ready to do deep work. It's completely worth it.

I felt Nicole listened well and offered encouragement and good advice. I was really impressed with her ability to gently bring professional insight into the conversation while still allowing me to express myself. I would say she is a wise listener who also gives professional insight.
