About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California spending the past 4 years of my career providing supportive counseling to adults, children, teens and families. In addition to the counseling services I have provided I have experience with crisis support, grief counseling and addiction. Prior to working in the medical field, I worked with foster youth, children involved in the juvenile justice system, single parents and homeless 18-24 year old's. I have training in trauma informed care and have successfully provided supportive counseling to those dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, relationship issues (divorce, breakups, abuse), pregnancy related complications, postpartum depression, parenting struggles, adjustments to major life changes and the adaption of positive coping skills.

I have a passion for working with adults who are struggling with relationship issues, adapting to new life events, managing stress and/or who individuals who are struggling with addiction.

My therapeutic approach as a relational therapist allows me to help you develop better relationships with others in your life, including yourself. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space that welcomes people of all age ranges and diverse cultural backgrounds. My approach blends attunement and caring by creating practical solutions for helping you deal with things that are causing you distress. I use an integrative approach that combines strength based therapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and a humanistic perspective that hopefully provides you with a positive experience. I tend to use talk therapy to encourage my clients to share what coping skills they are using now, and why they feel they may or may not be effective. I have the ability to provide homework and worksheets to those that are task oriented, but prefer to let conversation flow and to work on issues as they come up. I hope that when we talk, you feel safe, supported, and empowered to make lasting changes.

I earned a Master’s of Science in Social Work from San Jose State University. I also hold a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a concentration in Behavioral Sciences and a minor in Criminal Justice from San Jose State University. During graduate school, I completed an internship with former foster youth and and worked as a social worker in children's hospital in the oncology and stem cell transplant center.

I look forward to meeting you and having the opportunity for us to work together!
